Malaysia’s digital future is being shaped by a new movement focused on people. At PEOPLElogy, we recently hosted our inaugural CxO Synergy event through our initiative, Build A Future Team (BAFT). The transformative session brought together leaders from the business, government, and social sectors. The goal? To collectively address Malaysia’s digital skills gap and create a sustainable, future-proof workforce. 

Our BAFT initiative aims to make a significant impact, with a target of upskilling 1 million Malaysians through nationwide programmes, digital certifications, and job placements. To achieve this, we are building a powerful public-private partnership model. We aim to raise a collective value of RM 100 million over the next three years, contributed by a diverse ecosystem of partners. 

The ecosystem is built on a simple yet powerful network: 

• Business partners provide job opportunities 

• Skill partners deliver the necessary training and certifications 
• Impact partners contribute funding and support, aligning with ESG goals 

According to PEOPLElogy’s founder, Allen Lee, the initiative is more than just a framework—it’s a movement to unite leaders and transform the digital workforce of tomorrow. The event featured discussions on crucial topics, from talent shortages to the importance of upskilling to remain competitive in the age of AI. 

The initiative also has a strong focus on social sustainability, aiming to create digital job opportunities for underserved groups, including women, rural youth, and underemployed graduates. By aligning business growth with social good, PEOPLElogy’s BAFT initiative ensures that economic progress is inclusive and benefits all Malaysians, setting a new standard for collaborative workforce transformation.
